Google has rolled out another AI update. In the Netherlands, we are eagerly awaiting the AI ​​Overviews, which will change the search results page. But in the meantime, Google is not sitting still. Google has announced that AI Overviews will be further expanded and that a new experiment has been started: AI Mode. Expansion of AI Overviews

Users in the US have been seeing the AI ​​Overviews block appear at the top of the search results page for some time now . This block provides an immediate answer to a search query, without having to open multiple websites. The AI ​​Overviews block appears especially for more complex and long queries.

It’s a handy feature: you get an immediate answer, without having to search further. AI Overviews is not yet available in the Netherlands, but it looks like it will be rolled out this year (2025). Google is already testing in Germany, Switzerland and Italy, among others.

Starting March 5, Google rolled out Gemini 2.0 for AI Overviews. This is the importance of an incentive program for physical businesses  a new update that allows the system to better handle more difficult questions such as programming problems and complex arithmetic questions. Google hopes that this will allow it to generate faster and better quality answers in the AI ​​Overviews block.

In addition to expanding AI Overviews, Google is also testing a new feature: AI Mode . You will be numbers  be able to enable this via a separate tab in Google.

When you perform a search, you’ll get an AI-generated answer, based on information from multiple websites that Google has access to. AI Mode allows users to ask extensive, multi-part questions. AI Mode then returns a bundled overview of relevant options, supplemented with comparative information and links for more information.
